The web is a vast resource of knowledge that’s almost inexhaustible with information. And keeping abreast on what’s the latest whether online or offline, local or global, is just a click of the mouse away. But choosing where to get your information is another story. I have been frequenting the LinkedIn oDesk group lately because I am monitoring a discussion that I’ve started regarding freelancing challenges. And I was surprised to see an entirely different look and feel of the groups section.
For one, there is now a slide gallery of recent posts that were made, a bar with tabs where you can give a thumbs up, comment, like, pass or flag for a post. Plus a Hootsuite/Facebook like status update console where you can attach a link and provide more detail [...]

It’s hard to keep up with social media. Every single day, we get bombarded with new updates, new tools being launched and new [tweetmeme]versions being rolled out. But let’s just say that for the month of June, if we are going to pick the best of the best social media productivity and management tool, which would you pick and recommend?

When I first had my hand on blogging, I can only name two major platforms, Blogger and WordPress. I did set up blogs for both but had to totally switch to WordPress for many reasons. And for more than two years now, I’m still in love with WordPress. Not that I don’t like Blogger, I just think that WP is more robust and more user friendly. And if i’ll be asked which platform to recommend I surely won’t hesitate to insist on WordPress. Am I being narrow sighted? I guess not.

I started as a full time freelancer last August 19, 2009 and yes, I’m still alive and kicking and looking to an even better 2010. I had a scary start primarily of financial nature, fear of the unknown and doubts of getting a work that can suffice my family’s needs. Blogs are so popular nowadays that if you do a Google search for this term it will give you a result of at least 1,130,000,000. That’s correct, a whooping one billion figure that grows by the thousands every day.
